Summary: | The presence of electrical charges on the surface of dielectric materials is a major source of hazard in many industrial process. The aim of this paper is to pave the way to use an AC corona discharger at industrial frequency (50 Hz) having a triode-type electrode configuration for active neutralization of electrically charged polypropylene films. The efficiency of the neutralization process was evaluated by noncontact measurement of the electric potential at the surface of DC-corona-charged PP films samples before and after exposure to the AC corona discharge. The Design of Experiments methodology was used for the quantification of the effects of the various influential factors and the optimization of the neutralization process. |
