description The wind turbine emulator(WTE) uses the motor to simulate the output characteristic of the wind turbine(WT) under the real wind field environment, and can effectively verify the various control strategies of the WT. This paper analyzes the working principle of the traditional WTE, discusses the torque and speed characteristics of the drive shaft, adopts the control strategy of acceleration compensation, and gives the motor torque that needs to be simulated. The shortcomings of the traditional WTE are pointed out. The range of moments of inertia of the WT is extended by adding a low-pass filter to the forward channel, and its stability and accuracy are analyzed. Finally, the effectiveness of the scheme is verified by simulation and experiment.
