Description
Summary:The continually rising heat fluxes in electronics components requires the implementation of advanced technologies and techniques to effectively maintain components within safe operating conditions. The uptake of liquid cooling for cooling high heat flux components in data centres has made waste heat recuperation feasible when certain steps are taken. This work investigates the effect of eight lateral wall mounted micromixers on the flow through a rectangular mesochannel (0.496mm × 1.012mm × 25mm). An experimental approach using μ-PIV for an adiabatic case is used to study steady flow at a range of Reynolds number; 150, 560, 2300. Experimental data is used to validate a 2D CFD model, which is used to conduct further in-depth studies of local Nusselt numbers and achievable outlet temperatures.
