Summary: | The goal of this paper is to describe a technique for the thyroid 3D model reconstruction from 2D images provided by an ultrasound system using image processing and pattern recognition. We investigate if various image processing techniques can solve the problems of semi-automatic thyroid reconstruction. The techniques involved included methods of approximation like Sum of Squared Differences (SSD) and deconvolution algorithms like point spread function (PSF). This approach has several benefits including 3D models of human organs that can be used in the teaching process, further medical investigations or remote sites evaluations. |
