Description
Summary:This study presents the development of a MATLAB-Based graphical user interface (GUI) for the detection and localization of faults in a transmission line using the Stockwell transform (ST) and machine learning algorithms like support vector machine (SVM) and artificial neural network(ANN). ST is used for the processing the current signals captured during the fault event. The GUI operates in two steps. Firstly, the ST coefficients are calculated from the sampled current signal and SVM classifies the fault using the RMS values of the ST coefficients. Finally, the GUI channelizes the calculated RMS values of the ST coefficients to the appropriate pre-trained ANN for localization. This ST, SVM, and ANN based fault classifier and localizer GUI give a better level of accuracy.
