Summary: | Wireless video sensor network (WVSN) where static sensors are equipped with tiny miniature video camera plays a pivotal role in variety of applications like monitoring and surveillance in some target area. In disaster-hit area random deployment of these sensor nodes causes to overlap the sensing ranges, reducing the effective coverage. Thanks to the advancement of technology mobile VSN (MVSN) which can move in straight line or rotate came as saviour to address the issue. Two approaches APP_1 (using a combination of static and mobile sensors) and APP_2 (using mobile sensors only) are proposed in this paper to enhance the area coverage as well as reduce energy consumption in the disaster-hit area. These two schemes outperform the existing two approaches in terms of area coverage and energy consumption. |
