Summary:Research results concerning the influence of a high-frequency attenuator realising the STC process on a output signal are described. Especially the relation between the attenuator's amplitude-phase characteristic and signal shape at a matched filter output is considered. The paper concerns radar wide spectrum signals as follows: LFM signal, biphase coded signal and polyphase coded signal. Such signal characteristics as PSL and a mainlobe width after compression are used for comparative analysis.
