Summary: | A new method is described for detecting changes in aerial image sequences. An interest operator, sensitive to man-made features, provides cue points for active regions. Several steps are taken to compensate for misalignment, and for differences in illumination by a series of morphological operations, and by using two statistics for measuring the likelihood of a change in any particular region. Candidate regions are accepted or rejected by testing the significance of the change, compared to the estimated background response. |
