Summary:The properties of a cw planar CO laser with an unstable resonator and additional optical elements located outside the working model of the laser were studied experimentally and using numerical simulation. It is shown that it is possible to increase the output power and control the spectral characteristics by acting on the peripheral region of the unstable resonator.
