Summary: | Earthquake is a natural phenomenon that may result in great destruction and a lot of victims. Indonesia being located in the middle of the ring of fire suffers from a lot of earthquakes yearly with varying destruction power. The destruction of buildings often obstructs the disaster management teams from immediately identifying the whereabouts of the trapped victims in a building. This paper proposes a pre-disaster solution to provide information regarding the number of people inside the buildings within 35 seconds time interval before the earthquake strikes. This information acts as an important guidance for disaster management teams to better allocate resources more efficiently. The system is designed and implemented with Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and by using our cloud based Modular IoT Platform (MIOP) to simplify the development of IoT applications. |
