description | Open Data Cube is a potential solution to facilitate Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). This solution can provide improvement in the use of land change monitoring and disaster management from massive Earth Observation data. Sentinel Asia is Asia-Pacific regional initiative to join force Space Agencies and Disaster Management Agencies in DRR efforts. In its 10-Years Strategic Plan, a high priority task is to improve the efficiency of the operation. This task comprises of endeavors to introduce satellite imaging scheduling platform, and to establish cloud services. Additional measure is to consider utilization of Open Data Cube in data analysis. Taiwan Data Cube (TWDC) is therefore developed and applied to advance the development of key disaster information products and to promote the utilization of satellite-derived products by users. Data analysis under the disaster management cycle can be also addressed by TWDC to optimize the efficiency of generating value-added products in rapid disaster mapping. TWDC can further provide the co-operation and experience sharing with Sentinel Asia members in decision-making and management of DRR. This paper presents the progress of TWDC development and the application in Sentinel Asia. |
