Summary: | To accomplish feasible large-scale integration of distributed renewable energy (DER) sources into existing grid system, microgrid implementation of DER sources could turn out to be effective in mitigating the drawbacks as well as advanced utilization of such sources in fulfilling the ever increasing energy demand. This paper reviews certain vital aspects of the DER sources based power generation conducive electrical structure called microgrid, and presents an overview upon practicable crucial impact of the architecture on futuristic grid resilience. The study focuses primarily on the concept and definition of microgrid, discussion and comparison of the control strategies regarding various components within DER sources based micro-grid, energy management within and through the architecture, state-of-the-art entities such as electric vehicle's application and contribution towards grid resilience & different means of power quality associated with distributed renewable energy sources based microgrid. |
