Summary:Hydrological hazards-floods and landslides often occur in the Republic of Bulgaria. Their social and economic consequences can have a significant adverse effect on the advancements of the country and its economic growth; therefore, disaster risk reduction is very important for sustainable development. The paper presents a descriptive analysis of the hydrological disasters in Bulgaria for the time period 2010-2018. The survey is based on the relief of Bulgaria. Existing statistical data is reviewed and analysed and, as a consequence, recommendations are proposed.
