Summary: | Summary form only given. In this paper the excitation problem of electromagnetic waves by a thin electric cylindrical antenna located in a plane waveguide with perfectly conducting walls is considered. The waveguide is assumed to fill the inhomogeneous medium with the permittivity depending on the distance to the observation point. The response of the thin cylindrical antenna to impulse excitation has been calculated with the help of the Fourier transformation. The exact expressions for current distribution along the antenna, its input admittance, longitudinal component of electric field intensity and total complex power of the antenna are obtained and their numerical calculations are performed. |
