Summary:This study proposes a practical hybrid automatic transmission model for commercial vehicles based on the first-principle modelling approach. The developed plant model consists of three base elements, i.e. hydraulic circuit, multi-plate wet clutches and planetary gear sets. In today's intelligent transmission control system development framework, plant model plays an important role. It can be used to valid the control algorithm as well as control system in an early stage of the development process, thus shortening development process and improving software quality.
