Power amplifier back-off analysis with AM-to-PM for millimeter-wave OFDM wireless LAN
With a simple AM-to-PM modeling and system simulation techniques, power amplifier adjacent channel power ratio(ACPR) is calculated for millimeter-wave OFDM wireless LAN. The required amplifier back-off for specified ACPR and the ACPR degradation are predicted for the AM-to-PM nonlinearity. More than...

Summary: | With a simple AM-to-PM modeling and system simulation techniques, power amplifier adjacent channel power ratio(ACPR) is calculated for millimeter-wave OFDM wireless LAN. The required amplifier back-off for specified ACPR and the ACPR degradation are predicted for the AM-to-PM nonlinearity. More than 10 dB additional back-off is required if the amplifier has 5/spl deg/ AM-to-PM at the 1.0 dB compression, and the required back-off increases to 1.4 dB as the AM-to-PM increases to 10/spl deg/ compared to the case without phase distortion. |
