Measurement of polarization dependent gain in a dual pumped fiber optical parametric amplifier

Summary form only given. Optical parametric amplifiers (OPA) have been presented as an alternative way to provide gain in the 1550 nm window. Recently, several works reported two-pump OPA operation with net gain reaching from -5 dB, for CW pumping, and 25 dB for pulsed pumps. However, the polarizati...

Description
Summary:Summary form only given. Optical parametric amplifiers (OPA) have been presented as an alternative way to provide gain in the 1550 nm window. Recently, several works reported two-pump OPA operation with net gain reaching from -5 dB, for CW pumping, and 25 dB for pulsed pumps. However, the polarization dependence of such gains was not reported. In this work, we report an improved technique for measurement of polarization dependent gain (PDG) in the OPA.
