Summary: | Near-zero index (NZI) media has the characteristics of local field enhancement, local tunneling and tunneling effect. Here a humidity sensor based on near-zero permittivity (ENZ) media is proposed, which uses the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology. The tunnel height of the designed sensor is much smaller than the height of the SIW structure. It can be observed that there exist strong electric fields in the ENZ tunnel. Placing humidity-sensitive materials in the structure can realize a high-sensitivity humidity sensor. When the humidity changes, it is observed that the frequency of the sensor has changed, and its sensitivity is 1.07 MHz/RH, which proves that the sensor can effectively measure the changes in environmental humidity. |
