Inline quality inspection of tobacco filter requires accurately locate the flavor capsules in the filter. The filter capsule perfectly matches THz spatial resolution. In experiment, transmission Terahertz time domain spectroscopy imaging system was employed to measure the tobacco filer capsule. The result show that two-capsules in the tobacco filter can be positioned and distinguished by THz transmittance imaging. The result shows that Terahertz technology is a promising application for tobacco filter capsule quality control and production efficiency improvement.
