Summary:Stability of optical beats between longitudinal laser modes in a chaotically oscillated laser diodes for THz wave generation and detection is demonstrated compared to a free-running continuous-wave laser conventional laser. The high stability of chaotically oscillating lasers makes these lasers promising candidates for optical pump sources in terahertz time-domain spectroscopy systems.
