Description
Summary:An improved non-isolated high voltage gain boost converter (NI-HGBC) with a switched capacitor is proposed for low voltage energy application. Here switched capacitor is integrated to obtain high voltage gain. The proposed soft-switched high voltage gain boost converter has low voltage stress and high efficiency. This considerably reduces high frequency turn-off losses and reverse recovery losses across diodes. The proposed converter requires a single pulse to trigger switches which minimize the complexity of the control circuit. This article emphasized the development of NI-HGBC with the input of 48 V and the output of 380 V for the requirement of a grid-connected inverter however the developed converter can be used for fuel cells (FCs) and electrical vehicle charging (EVs) application also. Implementation of 250 W prototype high gain boost converter is built, tested and the result is verified. Measured full load efficiency of the converter is 95.50 %.
