Description
Summary:Over the recent years, due to the exponential rise in population, the number of automobiles on urban roads has increased. The increased number of automobiles has caused a significant impact on safety hazards. Intelligent transportation is one of the present-day solutions to counter this problem. The use of computer vision-based protection mechanisms under the category of Vehicle-to sensor (V2S) on-board that can be integrated as an external platform and the use of an external node was designed under the category of Vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) is a viable solution. We propose an integrated device that could be fitted into an automobile that enables safety functions of traffic sign detection and recognition and lane Alignment pre-warning. Plus, an external node was designed to contain the over-speed details, and forward the message to interested parties such as the police. This computer vision-based system provides efficient safety precautions, and the external node provides reliable and efficient data on overspeeding. Both traffic sign detection, recognition, and lane alignment pre-warning were simulated on the same program using dash camera videos using OpenCV.
