Description
Summary:In this paper, we analyze the possibilities to apply LoRaWAN in a container terminal to collect sensory information. We detect the quality of the communication links from the moving entity in the port - namely the port diesel truck with the node placed on the roof. We tested the application complexity of the system device, measuring the strength of the signals (RSSI) throughout the terminal. The truck moved in specific patterns in the port area, thus we collected mean RSSI values which can be used in future research dedicated to making applicable solutions for this port. Research results indicate that LoRa can be efficient to be used in the harsh port environment.
