Description
Summary:A broadband circularly polarized (CP) monopole filter-antenna is proposed in this paper. It is based on a kind of classic monopole antenna, planar inverted-L antenna. By coupling a flipped-y shape stub-loaded resonator (SLR), two resonance frequency and one additional radiation null at high frequency are introduced to realize broadband filtering. Furthermore, circular polarization is achieved by changing the structure of the GND where two trapezoidal branches are designed to create 90 phase difference and one rectangular stub is introduced to expanding CP bandwidth. The -10-dB filter bandwidth (FBW) and 3-dB AR bandwidth (BW) of the proposed CP filter-antenna are 27.5% and 19.6%, respectively. The flat peak gain value reaches 3.47 dB in the passband. It is worth noting that the proposed filter-antenna has a low profile (0.01 λ 0 height) and it is compact in size (0.56λ 0 2 footprint).
