Summary: | In this study, the temperature effects caused by the IPL light source sent at regular intervals by a commercial epilation device on four thermocouples placed 15 mm depth inside the surface of the muscle phantom were measured at five different power levels formed for particular skin tones, and the safety evaluation of the IPL device in terms of temperature was made. In addition, the muscle phantom used in the study was characterized optically and acoustically. Furthermore, based on the emissivity data in the literature, the irradiance and light doses at a distance of 15 mm inside the muscle phantom were calculated. The calculated light doses were compared with the dose values applied for light therapies in the literature. |
