Description
Summary:Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithms are used to extract the maximum power from a Photovoltaic (PV) generation system with changes in the weather. This paper presents a Regula Falsi method used to calculate the voltage at the Maximum Power Point (MPP) in a PV panel. The proposed method is compared through simulations against the Perturb and Observe (P&O) method, which is typically used in the literature because of its simplicity, precision, and fast implementation. The results obtained show that the proposed method calculates the MPP with good accuracy and in shorter simulation times than the P&O method, even with changes in the weather, such as changes in the solar radiation and the temperature.
