Summary: | This paper presents an improved gain modified SEPIC converter with a non-coupled inductor. This converter is also designed in such a way to make it optimal for green energy applications with the feature of continuous current at the input and boosted gain. The presented modified SEPIC converter provides enhanced voltage gain employing two switches and two voltage multiplier cells. The proposed converter also incorporates a passive clamping circuit which decreases the switch voltage stress and enhances the converter's gain. When interrelated to further converters, the designed circuit has improved gain, better efficiency and reduced losses. Thus, the presented paper validates the operation of modified SEPIC converter and their performance is closely analyzed and compared to that of other converters. To ensure the converter's efficiency, simulation results for 100W/40 kHz with a 20 V input voltage source are provided. |
