Description
Summary:A two-dimensional lattice Boltzmann method is used to investigate the flow-induced cavitation, inside a square closed cavity in the presence of a gravity field, in which the flow is engendered by the mobile lid. The phase separation is obtained through the pseudo-potential model proposed by Shan-Chen. Primary, a standard benchmarks test was conducted to assert the validity of the house code. The results reveal the occurrence of cavitation under the presence of both forces. Furthermore, the influence of the wall wettability on the cavitation bulk is examined. It is observed that the vapor expands linearly with the wettability of the wall. The assessment of flow structure reveals the effect of the cavitation on velocity field drops over the domain.
