Summary:In that work the main object is GaP single nanowires. Waveguiding properties of these nanostructures are studied both numerically and experimentally. We calculated single GaP nanowire guided modes for different wavelengths (405, 532, 632, 802 nm) and various diameters of the structure with the step of 10 nm. To supplement the numerical study, we provided single nanowires optical analysis with illumination of one of the end facets with the help of lasers with wavelengths mentioned above. Comparing modelling and experimental data, waveguiding cut-off due to asymmetry and small cross section of the waveguides is evaluated.
