Summary: | The input for a sugar industry is sugarcane beat, and output is sweet and white sugar crystals. However, this process is not simple as it looks like. There are various individual sub-processes which run altogether to yield the final product. Broadly, it starts with the preparation of thin fibers out of the sugarcane. Then, it is forwarded to a series of crushing rollers to extract the juice. This raw juice is then passed on to the pH neutralization and filtration process. The refined juice is then evaporated to yield thick syrup. Finally, the syrup is forwarded to crystallizers to yield crystals of sugar. The sub-process that is chosen, in this paper, to proceed with the research, is the pH control process. For considered model of this process, automatic control systems are designed using MATLAB. The classical PI and soft computing based ANFIS controllers have been developed, and their control responses have been compared. |
