Summary:The paper describes an approach for estimation of inertial measurement unit using image processing algorithm to determine the position of an object in space. The results of measurements of the angular velocities of a freely rotating platform using the inertial and photogrammetry methods are presented. The inertial method data contains the measurement results of a three-axis solid gyroscope. The photogrammetry method determines the position of the platform using digital video cameras based on images of fiducial markers installed on it. A comparison of the measurement results is presented, conclusions about the accuracy of the tested gyroscope are drawn.
