Summary: | A parameter extraction method for the two-diode model of solar cells based on the I-V characteristic is presented. The proposed methodology was implemented in the programming language Octave and is able to predict the maximum power point of the solar cell with better accuracy than other methods found in the literature. The algorithm is a purely iterative process where ideality factors of diodes are also modified during each iteration. This methodology was applied to extract the parameters of both in-house solar cells and for commercial panels to make a comparison with other existing extraction methods. |
