Description
Summary:This paper focuses on energy saving of electrical appliances through energy monitoring and alert application via mobile phones. People tend to use electricity regardless of the limit and some of them always forgot to turn off the electrical device when not using it. These situations lead to excessive electricity consumption at home. Consequently, their electricity bills increase drastically. Hence, a monitor and alert system to overcome the waste of electricity is needed. It is more focused on electrical appliances that used infrared (IR) remote controls such as air-conditioners (A/C). The hardware prototyping can record the data on electricity usage and remind the user through a Blynk application when the daily usage is at the limit. The result shows that the system is successfully developed and able to monitor daily energy usage and alert the user.
