Description
Summary:With advances in remote sensing sensors and methods, numerous studies have showcased the algorithmic approach to monitoring and maximizing the potential of farmland. Of specific interest are applications that are tuned for applications at smaller scale such as the field parcel. In Finland, farmers are typically faced with both problems of water stress-excess and deficiency-at different stages of the season. In absence of widespread adoption of irrigation systems, improving the understanding of a fields behaviour with regards to water is important. In this study we test a simple and functional work-flow to identify zones within a field that exhibit stable and volatile characteristics during a growing season with respect to the crop moisture index, with an emphasis on using open data.
