Summary: | A simple but robust method of estimating thickness of Urethane foam by way of absorbance using continuous wave of 700GHz is presented. Our measurement was found to give 0.08mm in average thickness error with smoothed raw data in small Z-height range, which infers that the depth of focus is attributed to the estimation accuracy. We also found that by increasing the detector integration time, which increases Signal-to-Noise ratio (S/N) of the detector signal, the estimation error is reduced by 75%, which suggests that the accuracy of thickness profiling of Urethane foam can be improved by low noise readout performance. |
