Summary: | A unit cell of meander trace inserted metamaterial perfect absorber (MMPA) based on electric-inductive-capacitive (ELC) resonator structure for a sub-terahertz (THz) CMOS Image Sensor Pixel's antenna and that of 10 GHz version on a FR4 with the same topology were simulated, fabricated, and evaluated. Our MMPA was found to give 19.3 % lower resonant frequency than the conventional MMPA and 59.2 % smaller in length than the typical microstrip patch antenna while keeping a high absorption rate even with a lossy substrate, suggesting that the proposed antenna is suitable for sub-THz CMOS Image Sensors. |
