Summary:In this article, an improved ISOP-LLC converter is proposed for wide output voltage variation. The converter is consisted by two sub modules and two work models are obtained by modulating the primary side power devices. With the induced auxiliary connection, the extend voltage range can be achieved by mode switching. Compare to the conventional LLC converter, the proposed converter is more suit for high power conversion and its working frequency range is more narrow. On the other hand, the soft switching characteristics of the proposed converter is inherited form LLC converter and no additional power devices are introduced in the converter, which promise a high efficiency. The operation principle of the proposed converter is analyzed and the switching schematic of each mode is given with the voltage gain wave. A 500W experimental prototype with 36-132V output, 375V input is established to validate the proposed converter.
