Summary: | 6G expected to be commercialized around 2030 will provide not only a new telepresence service with a data rate of ~ Tbps but also an ultra-high precision positioning service with a cm-level accuracy. In a timing-based positioning, achieving a cm-level accuracy typically requires a bandwidth of ~GHz. Support of such a highly accurate positioning with a minimum bandwidth possible would be beneficial since it can allow more radio resources for other broadband services. In this study, we describe an upsampling-based frequency-efficient time synchronization method in a wireless OFDM system and provide a detailed analysis of some of the important factors affecting timing accuracy. |
