Summary: | Considering the functional role of the arc suppression coil in medium voltage networks with coil-treated neutral, respectively of the shunt switch in medium voltage networks with resistor-treated neutral, the paper presents a study of overvoltage that occur at single-phase faults in isolated neutral medium voltage networks with and without the use of the shunt switch. To compare the results to be obtained at a later stage by simulating in a computer application a distributor transformer station in which a shunt switch is in operation, were performed a series of deliberate groundings that are presented in the following. |
