Summary: | We propose transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation along the finger's base to achieve induction of tactile sensation at the finger. Unlike many other methods, our method can superimpose tactile sensation on natural perception through interaction with real objects because the finger is left uncovered with a device. We conducted a psychophysical experiment to demonstrate that the location of the induced tactile sensation could be modified by altering the position of stimulation along the base of the finger. Our method solves the problem of inducing tactile sensation in various locations without covering the targeted position. |
