Description
Summary:In this paper, the authors present mathematical models of reconfiguring distribution networks, as well as some heuristic methods to solve these models. The purpose of using these models will be to ensure the continuity of the customers' supply through the reconfiguration, using a restricted number of actions with the operation diagram, as a result of a black-out, provided that the energy losses in the network are minimized. Also, the authors present a mathematical model and a method to solve the problem of reconfiguring distribution networks by minimizing the power losses on a short term basis. To establish the energy losses, two techniques of calculation are used: one which takes into account the value of the real and reactive power consumption during 24 hours, by hourly levels; and another method, which takes into account only the active energy consumption during a given period of time. Some applications are annexed to the presented methods, which have been obtained by the use of dedicated computer programs. (5 pages)
