Summary:The BP1113 filter breaker restrikes after being switched off, leading to the triggering of capacitor unbalance protection of this filter and the other on-bus filters in LingZhou station. This study focuses on the mechanism how the restrike of breaker influences the corresponding filter and other on-bus filters on the basis of the practical data. First, the whole-process waveform record was analysed, to find that the discharge of capacitor bottom frame is the cause of the unbalance current of capacitor. Second, the discharge circuits were analysed, the cause of the filter overvoltage and the theoretical functional form of the overcurrent in filters were determined and the influence rules of the restrike on filters were concluded, including the overcurrent distribution in filters, the highest overvoltage and the insulation key point. Third, the theoretical analysis and the detailed practical waveform were compared, further validating the conclusions. The research revealed the possible accompanying fault caused by the filter restrike and the specific mechanism, and some suggestions to prevent it.
