Recurrent post-hysterectomy vaginal vault prolapse is a difficult surgical problem. Our experience of seven cases of such prolapse treated by laparoscopic sacral colpopexy is reported. In all, the vaginal vault was fixed to the presacral region using a prolene mesh, with the entire procedure being performed laparoscopically. Median follow-up is 6 months (range 2 to 18 months). All six patients with some follow-up reported excellent symptom-relief. The repairs were clinically assessed to be excellent in five and good in the remaining patient. |
