Summary: | The complete mitochondrial genome of Shorthead catfish (Pelteobagrus eupogon) was obtained by DNA sequencing based on the PCR fragments. The entire genome was 16,562 bp in length, with a gene content of 13 protein-coding, 2 ribosomal RNA, and 22 transfer RNA genes, and order identical to that observed in most other vertebrates. Those genes are arranged compactly with no introns and few intergenic nucleotides. Molecular data here presented provide a useful toll for evolutionary as well as population genetic studied. |
