Summary:Variables of the maintenance function and of the technological system of production enterprises are identified. Hypotheses on the dependency between these two sets of variables are formulated. Organisational arrangements are discussed as being dependent on variables of the maintenance function. Thus it is possible to link variables of the technological system to alternative ways of organising maintenance. Incorporation of other variables in similar analyses is proposed.
