Summary: | Dimethysilicon(IV) maleanilates and phthalanilates have been synthesised by the reaction of dichlorodimethylsilane with the sodium salt of maleanilic and phthalanilic acids (prepared in situ by the reaction of sodium isopropoxide with maleanilic and phthalanilic acids) in 1:2 molar ratios, respectively. These newly synthesised derivatives have been characterised by elemental analyses, melting points and spectral (IR and
1
H NMR) studies.
