Summary:Eutarsopolipus shpeleyi n. sp. (Acari: Podapolipidae) is described from the carabid beetle, Pterostichus luctuosus Dejean (Carabidae), from Michigan, U.S.A. and compared with E. pterostichi, E. vernalis, E. inermis, E. diunculosus and E. fischeri in the pterostichi group of Eutarsopolipus. This is the third record of Eutarsopolipus and the first record of Eutarsopolipus in the pterostichi group from the carabid genus Pterostichus in North America.
