Description
Summary:Plasma-arc surfacing (constricted arc surfacing) is a promising method of depositing corrosion-resisting coatings. Plasma-arc surfacing with a preheated filler wire was carried out with experimental equipment developed at the Institute. The following surfacing conditions were selected as the initial parameters: welding current of the main arc I sub m.a , welding current of the preheating arc I sub p.a , oscillation frequency of the plasma torch omega , surfacing speed v sub w . Taking into account the need to produce a high-quality welded joint, the following permissible variation range was determined as a result of preliminary investigations: I sub m.a = 230-350 A, I sub p.a = 130-210 A, omega = 0.3-0.7 Hz, v sub w = (1.00-1.75)10 exp --3 m /s. These parameters were selected on the basis of their controlling effect on the degree of mixing of the parent metal (10Kh2GNM) and deposited metals during surfacing, and their effect on the structure and properties of the fusion zone and the deposited metals. \Original in Russian\.
