Summary: | A non-linear 0-1 integer programming formulation of the problem of grouping parts and machines in the presence of alternate process plans in Flexible Manufacturing Systems is presented. An iterative solution procedure based on the decomposition of the original non-linear model into two linear 0-1 integer programming models is suggested to solve the formulation. Application of the formulation and the solution procedure are illustrated using an example. |
