Description
Summary:Some mechanisms of the frictional movements in the multi-strand (multi-wire) cable have been modelled and impact of different factors on the frictional heat dcposited in the cable has been studied. It is supposed that the heat generation in the cable is caused by the strands relative slip. For two models developed the idea of semi-consistent field is used. This means that the frictional interaction of each strand with the surrounding medium formed by the rest of the strands is considered rather than the interaction of separate strands.
